Brand: de Kempen

We wanted a notebook that combines the history of Brepols in printing and binding techniques, while being fresh and timeless at the same time. A notebook that invites writing and drawing. To hold and to preserve. Color? Ribbon? Something with marble paper? And the final scribble? Our name: de KEMPEN. After our roots, the history of Brepols. The soil from which our ideas grow. The quality of your notebook paper determines your writing experience: no smudges, thanks to quick-absorbing 90 g/m2 FSC paper. Sufficiently thick, so your text doesn’t bleed through. Smooth, for that elegant pen stroke. And cream-colored, gentle on the eyes.

A de KEMPEN features a special binding that allows it to lay completely flat on the table. Ideal for left-handed individuals and those who want to use the full width of the notebook.

Oil pattern on water: that’s how marbled paper was made in the past. The National Museum of Playing Cards in Turnhout preserves authentic Brepols marbled paper. We scanned it in and use it as the basis for the endpapers. Each color notebook has a corresponding customized endpaper.

Convenient, above all. But the colored bookmark is also the finishing touch of your de KEMPEN notebook.

There is also a corner cut. A reference to the Brepols missals that received additional reinforcement at the corners.

Pocketbook: 160 pages, 90 gsm, 11 x 16 cm
